A central or regional storage hub would give families a place to send their gear they will need for their next cohort - seasonal clothes, specialty items, or bulky kid equipment. (especially between the cohorts with longer gaps, eg, Fall to Winter)
This serves a double purpose as it also solves the ongoing cycle of incoming families buying scooters, strollers, and similar items in every new location and then trying to resell them before leaving. It’s inefficient, expensive, and environmentally wasteful.
A storage hub and inventory list, paired with a borrow-and-return and break-it-replace-it model, would let these items become shared resources instead of single-use purchases.
Families could reuse rather than rebuy - cutting down on duplicate buying and reducing overall waste.
